BCCA Organizational News

During its first two years, our organization grew rapidly in the face of adverse conditions and many critical challenges. We were warmly embraced by the Brookline and Greater Boston arts community, and with the help of our many supporters, we have strengthened our organizational structure, partnered up with four non-profit organizations, formed many strategic alliances, have found a new building, and are looking forward to re-opening our doors and expanding our offerings.

Since our 501(c)3 status was granted in August 2004, we have been fortunate to be the recipients of many grants in a short period of time.

In total, our initial fundraising campaign to save our 14 Green Street home raised over $350,000 ($210,000 in donations and grants, and $140,000 in pledges). During that trying period, we were blessed with enormous support on the part of the press, who released over 60 feature articles, as well as coverage on major radio and TV news networks. We wish to thank all those who have continued to support us after we closed our doors in Brookline on May 16, 2005, so that we may look to a brighter tomorrow.

Along with our targeted Downtown Boston facility, the BCCA looks to further implement its global initiatives that aim to create and cultivate a network of artists and educators through the use of multimedia and telecommunication technology. The BCCA can serve as a great community based technology & arts partner to the high tech corporate industry and to educational institutions - Stay tuned for more developments in this area of our mission.
