BCCA Emergency Status Update + Year-End Fundraising Events – December 29th, 2004:

Dear Friends:

First and foremost, thank you to all of our loyal supporters. In just one month, we’ve raised $42,500! (This includes our online Red Sox ticket auction latest bid) We've raised $21,000 in the last three days alone - Let's keep up the momentum!

We're only $7,500 away from our goal of $50,000 by January 1st! We must meet this goal to avoid eviction and closing down the center.  The goal is within reach with all of your continued support. Together we can save this valuable community asset.

Did you know that the company you work for can most likely match or even double the charitable gifts you have given (or intend to give) us?! To find out if your company has a matching gift program, enter its name in the search engine at http://www.matchinggifts.com/demo.cfm. Act before the New Year and we can double our donations to date and complete the $100,000 January 31st Building Fund Goal!

The following newsletter bullets the ways in which you can help save the BCCA, including an invitation to a week and a half full of great fundraising events (see the bottom half of this newsletter).

Here’s how you can help:

  1. Attend our fundraising events - from Salsa to Rock, and Funk to Classical. Our events will continue strong till January 2nd. So come show your support by attending these wonderful shows. See below for details or visit http://www.BCCAonline.com/Year_End_Events.html.

  1. Now’s the time to make your year-end tax-deductible donation & spread the word to others. We are still short of our $50,000 goal to secure the building purchase agreement. Your donation, post-marked by December 31st, will be tax-deductible for 2004 and will help insure our continued tenancy and option to buy. In the unfortunate event that the purchase falls through and the BCCA is forced to close, donations to the Building Fund may be returned upon request.

* Make online donations, stay in touch with our situation, & download fundraising documents at:

* Download our updated fundraising letter at:

  1. To save the BCCA, we need to find a strong co-signer or buyer for the purchase of our building, who would be sympathetic to having BCCA as their tenant. Word of mouth is the best tactic we have to find this individual, so please get the word out.  Find out more details by calling Dan Yonah Marshall at (617) 970-1444.

  1. Tell the media about the BCCA’s fight for survival - It sounds much stronger coming from you. E-Mail the following media contacts with letters, voicing your support of our mission and fundraising need. Please carbon-copy (cc) us at dan_y_marshall@bccaonline.com, so we know whom you’ve contacted.

  1. Book a studio for a holiday event. Our beautiful studios, including a 150-person capacity ballroom, are available for rent by the hour, half-day, or full-day. A priceless gift for a die-hard Red Sox fan. Place your bids at http://www.BCCAonline.com/auction.html. Bidding will end by Midnight, December 31st.
