Dear Friends of the Arts,
First things first...
We have some great news regarding the building
purchase of the BCCA! Our purchase offer to the
landlord has been accepted with great terms, and our
remaining need is for a co-signer (with very limited
exposure - Please contact us if you or someone you
know may be interested.). If all goes well, we will
finalize the building purchase by the end of the
summer. BCCA is here to stay!
The battle is being won, but is not over yet. Although
our rent will be reduced by 50%, we will still fall short
for the next 6 months, and also need to install
handicapped accessibility to the basement. We
therefore need to increase our efforts towards
reaching our $100,000 Building Fund goal. We are
already $5,000 closer and things are looking up, but we
need your continued support. To insure that we
achieve our business development goals we are hiring
an interim general business manager and will be looking
for a candidate to assume a long term post 3 to 6
months down the line. For more development
information and to make a tax-deductible donation,
please visit our
development page
and click on the "Building Fund" link, or call Vlad Selsky,
Director of Development, at (617) 233-4647. We are
always looking for talented voluteers, and BCCA board
of directors nominees, and don't forget to check out
our increadible summer class, events & workshop
offerings!
Now for the news about our new summer
courses and upcoming events...
Summer has officially kicked off at the
BCCA, and we are proud to debut the biggest BCCA
course schedule ever!
We thank you for your
patience
during the last week while we entered an incredible new
line-up of courses & events, and we are sure that the
wait was worth it. All of our new courses are listed at
the bottom of this e-mail, including a list welcoming the
new faculty instructors who have just joined the BCCA
faculty. Along with new instructors, the BCCA also
presents a brand-new, easy-to-search schedules
by category to
help
you find exactly what classes you're looking for.
Read on to learn more about the Summer Course
Schedule, including great master classes and
workshops, and exciting events going on this July at
the BCCA.
As one of the highlights of this summer's schedule, we
are eager to welcome the start of the first annual
BCCA
Summer Arts Program, running July 12th through
August 20th.
BCCA Summer Arts Students (ages
4 to 18) will explore
movement and music in the contexts of dance, martial
arts, drama, creative movement, and visual arts,
nourishing
their creativity and developing important skills to
acheive their artistic dreams. Click
here to read about the details of the program, and
e-mail
or call Emily at 617-738-2800 to register.
Sliding-scale pricing makes this program affordable for
all families!
BCCA Class Schedules by Category Find exactly what you're looking for!
One of the best qualities of the BCCA is its breadth of
offerings, from Irish Step Dance to Capoeira to Charcoal
Drawing, but we understand that navigating through
our class schedule can be overwhelming. This week we
are unveiling a brand new way to search for classes at
the BCCA: class schedules by category. Now,
viewing
the complete line-up of Hip Hop Dance classes, for
example, is just one click away. The following
are
the
available schedules by category. There are direct links
to these schedules from our homepage.
General,
Kids,
Teens & Adults,
Ballet Dance,
Creative Movement,
Health & Fitness,
Hip Hop Dance,
Jazz Dance,
Martial Arts,
Massage, Chiropractic & Wellness,
Modern Dance,
Music,
Partner Dance,
Tap Dance,
Theater,
Visual Arts, &
World Dance
So whether you're into Music, Latin Dance, or Yoga (or
even all three!), there will be different schedules that
display exactly the courses you're looking for.
Keep your eye out for the complete, printed Summer
Course Catalogue, available at the BCCA and many
surrounding local businesses by the end of this
week.
We wish to extend our warm gratitude to the many
business sponsors who have, in good faith, supported
the production of our Summer Course Catalog.
